Partnership & Cooperation
GAMH cooperates with the Committee of Health and Social Affairs of the Parliament of Georgia, the Ministry of Labor, Health and Social Affairs and the State Ombudsman Office. As a result of the cooperation with the Parliamentary Committee and the organizations engaged in the field of mental health a new Georgian Law on Psychiatric Care has been elaborated by GAMH’s facilitating.
A Public Council for Carrying out Motoring of Human Rights in Closed Medical Institutions was created under the Ombudsman’s office, GAMH and Global Initiative on Psychiatry _Tbilisi is the members of this Council. In 2005-2006 this Council carried out the monitoring of six psychiatric hospitals.
We have good partnership with the State psychiatric establishments such as Psycho-neurological dispensaries (psychiatric out patient clinics) and Psychiatric hospitals. As a result of active lobbying of GAMH Psycho-social Rehabilitation Programs were launched in Batumi, Senaki and Kutaisi Psycho-neurological dispensaries and Batumi Psychiatric Hospital. The people from this organizations, and also Asatiani and Gldani Psychiatric hospitals rehabilitation programs were trained by the GAMH’s trainers.
GAMH cooperates and assists 2 patients independent organizations: “Partnership for Equal Rights” and “Users’ and Ex-users’ Union” and relatives organization “Apra”, We also have close partnership with Global Initiative on Psychiatry, Association for People in Need of Special Care (APNSC), Ndoba, Society of Georgian Psychiatrists, Center for Training and Consultancy (CTC), PHMDF, Young Lawyers Association, and SOCO led by the country First Lady. GAMH is the Home Care Coalition member.
GAMH have Partnership with RIBW Den Haag, RIBW Kennemerland/Amstelland en de Meerlanden, Haarlem RIBW Midden Brabant, Berkel-Enschot.
